How well a platform supports you, built from every answer for it.

How the score is built

The DOAP Score runs from 0 to 100, in four tiers: Building (0–49), Scaling (50–69), Optimizing (70–84) and Leading (85–100). The top two also need every area at a minimum, 50 for Optimizing and 65 for Leading, so one strong area can’t make up for a missing one. Scores are absolute, not graded on a curve: you move up by improving. Today the score is built from six practices, each scored 0 to 3: backup, restore expectation, restore rehearsal, staging, change visibility and schema documentation. The rubric is published with the report; until then, the score you see is marked provisional.

Building0–49
Some of the basics are in place, but not all: backups, a safe way to test changes, a record of what changed.
Scaling50–69
The basics are in place and done the same as much as possible, not left to memory.
Optimizing70–84
Measuring, tuning and making delivery self-service; reliability is designed in.
Every area 50+
Leading85–100
Strong in every area and continuous, documented improvement, with practices other teams could copy.
